The proof copy of my Pete Springer Photography 2015 Calendar arrived in the mail today and everything looks great so it’s time to make it available online!
This is my fifth calendar since 2010. The story behind this calendar is that five years ago I wanted a cool but functional swimwear calendar and I couldn’t find one. Everything was way oversized or featured giant photos but no space for the actual calendar or such a glossy surface you couldn’t write on the calendar itself. So I created my own using my own photos. The first four calendars were swimwear calendars but this year I changed it up and went with a fitness calendar.
While you certainly can hang this calendar on the wall, it’s also a great and functional calendar that you can use everyday. It’s sized the same as a magazine so it’s portable. I avoided putting a hole in the top of the calendar to hang on the wall – you can do that yourself if you want. Personally I like to hang my calendars (and prints) using wires and clips from IKEA. Some notes on creating the calendar. I opted to use only photos of women this year. They had to be horizontal photos and I wanted all the photos to be from this past year. I decided to go with a brighter, natural light style. The cover is the only strobe lit photo. I started out by selecting my favorite fitness photos from this past year then narrowing down to photos that would both fit the month AND the overall style of the calendar. So if you’re a model I’ve photographed who didn’t make it in this calendar, it’s not that I didn’t love the photos of you, they just didn’t work for this years calendar. It was really tough to narrow down to 15 images!
