Alex is a dancer who is trying out for the Blazer Dancers this summer in Portland. She came to me for her audition photos.
The auditions require a headshot and a body shot. So we tried a normal body shot but also a cool ballet dance pose while wearing fitness workout clothes. And the ballet pose turned out awesome!
Here’s the headshot Alex selected (photo on left). And she ended up with a bonus fitness photo too.
Alex is not the first Blazer dancer I have photographed. A couple of years ago, I did some photos for a dance audition and that client ended up passing the audition and becoming an actual Blazer Dancer. I’ve also photographed a former Blazer Dancer who went on to become a fitness model with Sports + Lifestyle Unlimited. And — this year, two of my clients from the past year used their photos to audition for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. And they both made the cheer team!
It’s important when you have an audition – whether it’s for a fitness model or an acting job or a dance audition – that you get the best possible photos to submit. A cell phone photo won’t cut it when the competition is fierce. A simple background – such as white seamless you see here – and lighting that is flattering is crucial. You only get one chance to make an impression – so make it your best impression!
I can help you out with photos that show you at your best. Whether it’s a dance audition or a linkedin profile, make sure you stand out from the crowd!
