Desiray contacted me about putting together a portfolio. We met for a free consultation and came up with a plan to create active, fitness style photos. Next step was to actually create the photos and select the best ones. Desiray brought those photos with her to a casting call at Q6 Talent, a Portland modelling agency.

She says the photos were really helpful because they showed the agency what she could do. Q6 offered her a contract on the spot. Desiray says that was awesome.

“I tried to keep it cool but I was really excited. I was super excited to be part of it. And they really are picky because they ask a whole bunch of questions.”

Her goal now is to get commercial modelling jobs, some television commercials, and athletic work. She says she initially tried to take her own headshots using her smart phone. But ultimately the portfolio she created with me is what helped her the most.

“It gave me a lot more options verses the headshots I took of myself with my phone. It opened a lot more doors and that’s exactly what I wanted.”

When I asked Desiray what it was like working with me, here’s what she said.

“It was really easy. You know the process of meeting you first and going over it and then taking photos then going over the photos, it was a lot more comfortable. It wasn’t like okay, here’s the photographer and it’s really nerve-wracking. It was a very comfortable environment. It was almost like taking photos with a friend. But very professional. I definitely loved it.”
