One area I’ve noticed where digital still struggles a bit over film is with red colors in significant amounts. In digital, the reds often burn out and seem overexposed, especially if you’re going for a brightly lit image like this. I’ve actually darkened this dress with a saturation layer.

Background right behind the model looks is foam core and foam core providing the fill light to her right too (camera left). I love that look but feel like I’m starting to shoot too many similar shots next to these studio windows lately. It can be a tricky thing in a studio to push yourself beyond the same tried and true shots over and over.

Super fast edit (still needs retouching) of one of my fav photos from today. Took forever to figure out the best lighting here but finally settled on an octa as key, gridded strip dome as rim light, and a softbox on the background. I may crop the final a lot tighter but also like this version.
