Intel is my state’s biggest private employer so I know I’m touching a nerve here. But I think it’s important to expose this kind of rights grab.
Intel is sponsoring the Oregon Naturally photo contest. Here is one of the rules:
“By submitting this image I am authorizing its unrestricted use by Intel Corporation, Belo and Belo Interactive.”
Whoa. That’s not just the contest winners– that’s everybody who even SUBMITS a photo!!!
Now I know Intel profits are down but they still had a net income of $234 million just in the last three months!
No wonder Intel is facing so many lawsuits. The rules of their photo contest stink. If they run their business anything like this contest, I can really see some merit to those lawsuits.

If you think that is bad, you should read the regulations for Facebook and Myspace!
