I've been on Linkedin networking for over a year and nothing has come out of it. The reason is that people there don't really know who I am or care. Any contact you make there is completely superficial. It won't help you get a job or further your business, because fundamentally no one knows you from a hole in the wall, even if you do happen to be linked to their peers. The internet is an artificial and phony way to make business contacts, as though the process weren't phony enough in the real world. Like almost everyone else on Linkedin, I've given up on it and only bother checking my profile once every week or two.
